Report from Vermont: Late August
A dramatic sky day with only a smidgen of rain, much less than was forecast. Now we are settling into a prematurely dark evening. Night comes earlier now as summer wanes. For those of us who are not yet ready for the growing darkness, the shortening days are challenging.

Beach Days
A calm evening following a hot day. The hay fields are lush and not far from a second cutting. Our local farmers’ markets are abundant with fruit and vegetables, and our refrigerator is overflowing with yesterday’s market finds.
