Late Winter Day
Today has been a classic late winter’s day. There is snow on the ground and the sun casts long shadows through the forest and provides respit from the frosty breeze. Venture back into the shade and the day seems chill indeed. Snow and rain tomorrow, bridging to a mild week.

New Year’s
New Year’s Eve. Another cool, wet stretch, the ground saturated, water standing here and there. This morning’s wan sun has disappeared behind thick cloud. Dark will fall early. Christmas has passed and we await Christmas. As I have aged I have become more aligned with the traditional Christmas date of January 6th, Epiphany. Last year…

Silence
A bright, cold morning. Most of the snow and ice have melted away and we shall have rain and warmth tomorrow. Today is the second Sunday of Advent and we are reminded that even in very difficult times there is hope.

December Snow
A snowy day. Earlier the snow had essentially stopped and the sun had come out. Now the clouds have lowered and we are receiving intermittent bursts of moderate snow. The feeders are covered in birds.
