The Winter Solstice has passed, and the days will now slowly lengthen. We await Christmas and winter.

Advent: Joy, Hope, and Suffering
So we wait. A child will be born. Hope will return to the world. Suffering, even genocide will follow. Then, after a period of longing, a child will be born.

Now, as the darkness gathers, let us take hope in our parents’ and ancestors’ acts of kindness, caring, and resistance, acts that allowed us to survive, and opened possibilities for our, and our children’s, future.
