Wildness

We have had rain and the drought is hopefully broken, finally. After two years of drought it is difficult to believe our community averages over fifty inches of rain a year.

Late Winter Day

Today has been a classic late winter’s day. There is snow on the ground and the sun casts long shadows through the forest and provides respit from the frosty breeze. Venture back into the shade and the day seems chill indeed. Snow and rain tomorrow, bridging to a mild week.

Breath

A chill, dark day. Just enough rain has fallen to dampen the ground. The drought continues. There is some leaf change here on the peninsula. Staring into the Abyss

Another hot humid day. Last evening thunderstorms came close but did not bring rain. We had brief rains a couple of days last week, but again not enough to break the drought. This summer storms approach in a line, then break apart, and pass either side of us.
