  1. Indeed. I am constantly baffled that so many who perpetrate cruelty against those who don’t fit their idea of who belongs call themselves God-fearing Christians. I was taught that Jesus embraced all people and particularly the poor, the feeble and the sick. The leaders who pretend to be Christian are the worst kind of hypocrites, using religion as a tool. In my mind it’s bad karma.
Fall is such a lovely time. I rejoice in the same things you do.

    1. I imagine you might have had a frost over the past couple of nights. Are the leaves turning?
I think that fear gets in the way of people following the demands of scripture. Maybe if we all agreed to have a bit less, share what we have, and make space for each other, power and wealth would stop seeming to be important. Maybe, as Jesus and so many others have said, we would have to accept that we all share a common fate, ultimately. Scary stuff! And yes, the hypocrisy is intense.

  2. You quoted one of my favorite how-to-live-life & ‘social justice’ scriptures verses…applicable for all – us everyday citizens and those in power and…well you get the idea.

    1. Yes! Actually paying attention to the prophets of any tradition is both rewarding and insanely demanding.

  3. Micah 6:8. Yes. It’s how to live life. I’m thinking of writing it on my next protest sign…

  4. Your post is interesting, Michael. Well done, my friend.

  5. I found much to contemplate and so much truth in this post. Well written. Thank you for sharing your always thoughtful insights.

    I love the photo, too.
