This morning dawned gray and wet, heavy rain falling at a slant and slashing at north facing windows in the stiff breeze. It’s warm though, about 52F, and the snow from last weekend’s blizzard has mostly melted. Later the rain is forecast to change to freezing rain and then sleet as the temperature drops rapidly…

Windigo Season

Today is overcast and cold, one of those rare days the thermometer will likely not rise above freezing. There is snow on the ground and trees following the weekend storm that brought most human movement here to a temporary halt.

New Year’s Musings

I hope your winter holidays were filled with warmth and joy. We are in the midst of a cloudy, chill early January morning. We are promised rain later, each drop putting further distance between us and the long summer drought.

A chill, dark day. Just enough rain has fallen to dampen the ground. The drought continues. There is some leaf change here on the peninsula.
