  1. Walkability (and bikeability, and wheelchairability if good sidewalks) is a great benefit! Our home is walkable to pretty much everything in town (on sidewalks), and we still see black bears, deer, fox, porcupine, raccoons, possums, the occasional coyote or bobcat. I love that you will be “carrying out a limited urban rewilding project in hopes of attracting wildlife” at your new place in Providence. Just thinking about the effort it takes to move is making me tired, though! Hope all goes smoothly.

    1. Thank you!
We thought about moving back to small town Vermont but the cold is not good for PPS. Providence is very urban but has three colleges and a rich cultural life, which we have sorely missed. Rewilding is what my step-son’s partner does for a living so we have access to the skill and expertise we will need. And yes, the sidewalks are generally disability scooter friendly, and there are bike lanes. Exciting!

  2. Wishing you all the best in your move. We moved cross country 20 years ago and downsized by at least half. It’s not for the faint of heart so I hope you have a support system to assist you. Hoping you love being closer to family and all the things urban Providence has to offer.

    1. Thank you, Judy. We are counting on family in this transition. So stressful but we need a fresh start.

  3. Life is full of compromise! But your move appears to have much appeal and rewilding will be a great positive. It is an upheaval but these things can also be good for us. I wish you a very happy transition! I have not heard coyotes here for a long time and I miss them.

    1. Thank you!
Between the coyotes and screech owls night can be a bit unnerving at times. We hear there are coyotes in Providence! I’m curious what we will discover. We are in Providence often but not in a way that allows secrets to unfold.
