Overnight the month, and season changed. Yesterday was balmy; today is chilly and blustery, definitely an autumn day. There is a stiff breeze out of the northeast. We have closed most of the windows and so far even Nori does not want to venture out to the north facing deck. Somewhere off the coast a hurricane is passing us by. By Friday temperatures will climb back above normal once again, but for today we are enjoying a change of season.
A short while ago we wandered into the village for a cup of coffee at the coffee shop. For the first time this fall no one was sitting on the patio; there was no way to get out of the wind. Jennie had made hot cereal for breakfast so we only ordered coffee. She wore a fall coat and was, by the time we got home, warm from the walk. I used the scooter and wore a good fleece; I was cool enough that I was happy to be home and warm up.
In the garden, the peppers and eggplant are still producing as are the sunflowers; this morning Jennie found a lone cucumber. Today’s photo is of a squirrel hidden amongst the sunflowers, eating away, with only the tail showing. Can you find it?
Our woven sculptural book is at the gallery and the soundscape is as ready as it will be. Friday we will go to the gallery and for the first time try the soundscape and the art piece together. Saturday afternoon is the opening so there is no time for major changes; things will just be what they are. We are excited!
We have yet to receive links to the virtual gallery. Here is the soundscape:
