A cool, sunny day after a week of mostly rain. We were in Providence both Friday and Saturday, and enjoyed glimpses of sun and relative warmth between the showers. Here, there are daffodils and crocuses in bloom, and in Providence, redbuds and forsythia. Everywhere there is bird song and Jennie saw osprey on the beach nest!
Here in the house, boxes are being filled, then stacked in closets and corners, plants are being moved onto the three season porch, and studio shelves emptied. Nori seems to have become more resigned to the chaos and has resettled herself on the sofa in our music studio. Hopefully, she will be OK for a while with the slow accumulation of change.
Out in the wider world Easter proved to be a day to float the hunger for more war crimes. Sadly the general revulsion with the current militarism appears to be having little impact on the sociopaths making decisions. As a military brat from a long time military family I am enraged and shocked by both the total disregard for lives and ecosystems, and the blatant willingness to place the lives of already demoralized service members in jeopardy.
I was always taught to ask, “What would Jesus do?” I’m pretty sure he would not choose war crimes. Perhaps not surprisingly, the Supreme Court’s and Administration’s push to make this a more Christian country does not seem to be working very well.
