A Stormy Day

Saturday afternoon I managed a haircut. My last one was last summer when I had a very handsome buzz cut. Oddly, my hair grew quite slowly and has become unmanageable only recently. Our stylist is a few towns over, and it was late by the time she had finished with both of us, so we treated ourselves to a delicious dinner at a bistro not far from her, we have been wanting to try.

  1. First, I’m sorry you’re dealing with a cold and hope you are soon back to health. I, too, have a cold, although nothing that’s knocked me down. But I thought it was gone and now it’s back. Argh.

Your dream sounds about spot on, although maybe even your average eight-year-old would be better behaved than our current president. Argh.

    1. Thank you, Audrey.
The inner world of eight year olds can be pretty tumultuous and violent. Overly powerful eight year old are the stuff of tragedy for sure.

  2. Feel better soon! Packing up a house that is being severely downsized is a stressful activity! And yes to that last comment. Child abuse can have far reaching effects.

    1. Thank you! A big, rewarding job, long overdue.

  3. Very dangerous is right! Sorry for him and sorry for us. Hope you feel better soon. Such a big job to move.

    1. Thank you, Laurie. ever more dangerous I fear.

      1. Alas. Sigh. I sure hope that in November there will be a turning of the tide.

  4. Sending healing thoughts to you, Michael, and to your dream child, too. 💜🪶

    1. Thank you, Carol. Dreams are always personal, eh.

  5. I hope you’re feeling much better now, Michael! Regarding the dream, I wish he and all of the very real damage he has caused was just a once off kind of nightmare…Alas, there are productive ways to counteract said damage, and it sounds like you’re doing really well on that end. The books you’ve donated are going to be fruitful in other people’s lives too!

    1. Thanks, Adam,
I am feeling much better.Moving is always so stressful!
Yes, repairing the damage will be challenging. Maybe we just need a start over.

  6. Sadly, and frustratingly, true, Michael.

  7. I’m behind on my WordPress reading, but as I catch up it seems quite apt that I’ve now reached your post : Storm Dave has arrived here. It’s coming up to midnight and things are wild outside. As long as we are safe, as long as everyone is safe, I have to admit: I kinda love it.

    1. Yes, as long as all are safe, storms can be a lot of fun. Sadly, our last blizzard damaged or destroyed many trees and bushes. Still, people will be swapping blizzard stories for many years to come.
