On the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz

This week marks the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz.

It is also a week in which many countries are jailing and deporting persons they define as other. The othered are also allowed to die of thirst in the desert or drown trying to cross bodies of water. Once again, Fear roams the land. Of course, any similarities between the past and the present are purely coincidental.

Here is a piece that tries to touch on those themes, Just A Coincidence. I recommend beginning with lower audio levels and adjusting from there.

Also:

BBC Radio 3 spent most of Monday exploring composers who were murdered during the Holocaust. Each day this week they are showcasing composers lost to the Nazis.
