Early Summer Morning

A wet morning, which was not forecast, is slowly giving way to partial sun. The cool of the day is transitioning to warmth, which will move on tomorrow to just plain hot and humid. Jennie’s gardens are aflight with birds which she says is a mixed blessing. The foxgloves she planed a couple of years ago are spreading and bring joy to the yard, showing vibrant pink against the deep greenness of things.

We have enjoyed the first of the snap peas! Oh, my! Yum!

I found myself heartened by the profoundly personal and moving responses to my last post. If you have not done so as yet, I highly recommend a read through the comments as I found reading them so deeply healing and encouraging. My heart rose as I read them. So much insistence on being kind and response in the face of craziness!

My friend Laura posted this link which is marvellous.

And here is a very West Coast ode to early summer evenings. True to the West Coast influence the volume jumps a couple of times so please don’t blast your speakers:

  1. Great to hear your composition (I do like me a fine electronomusic piece!) – and I’m glad you’re back at your (he)art. peace always.

    1. Thanks. Laura. It is exciting to finally have access again to modular synths again after 40 years! I often get lost for hours and am always learning.

    2. I’m looking forward to hearing your new project! I’ve really enjoyed listening to your recordings.

      1. Very kind of you to say so!

        1. I have gotten into the habit of trying to acknowledge work I truly like. I truly like your music.

          1. Thank you – your affirmation means a lot to me!

  2. An “insistence on being kind…” So needed right now. I just returned from time with my baby grandson (and his parents). Everett snuggles were exactly what I needed in the light of all that is happening in the world, including right here in Minnesota. It’s been a difficult week for my state.

    1. Audrey, I am struggling to convey my alarm and bewilderment at the events this week all over the world, but particularly in your state. I’m glad you found salve in your grandson’s touch.
